A quick reminder that the Eagle Road Race training night will be on this tuesday 9th August from 6pm to 8pm. The warm up and group riding practice will be from 6.00 to 6.30. We will then have main training from around 6.45 with sprints practice, team time trials, scratch races in small groups and a handicap race as a finale. All on the lower flat circuit.
The event is open to guests as well as Eagles, and is aimed at riders at all levels - bring your cycling friends too. We pay individually to use the lower circuit.
The 7th of August is the day of the Willsher 50 combined with the 32nd Assn. 50 - after the event we are holding an Open Day at the clubhouse.
The Willsher 50
The Wilsher 50 is our club 50. The trophy was presented by the Club as a memorial to the late Frank Willsher, killed in the Thames floods, 6th January 1928. We will need a few marshals for the 50 and it will make the organisers job much easier if you could get in touch email tony to let him know you can help.

A nice evening for racing and most seemed happy with their times. Carlito is still getting used to his new TT bike and was a bit frustrated but I am sure it will come good soon. Paul had trouble with his new shoes these are ideal events for trying things out on as you are never far from home.

Not a very nice day (rising SW wind and drizzle) but a very good morning of sport and a good atmosphere, there were no non starters or non finishers and the times were good in the conditions, some people like it like that. The team race was won by the Eagle with a fair margin. The South Eastern boys took it in good spirits and the battle will resume in 2012.

Many Eagles are just finding form in time for our annual battle with the South Eastern, this year we are on our home course E1/25d. Last year we had a fairly comprehensive win on the SERC course and our winning team were.
C Baldwin 55:20, P Hersey 57:05, D Foy 58:30, E Chittenden 1:03:43.
Who will be in the winning team this year?
