Hi all, well for our seasoned members they will Know what my training camps are all about. But for our newer members, over the last several year's i have organised a training camp in Mallorca (that's Majorca to some). It is not regimented but more of a holiday with cycling where i organise daily rides which you can join, and ride as hard or easy and for as long or short as you like.
We have established a family protocol with the staff at the Puerto Azul Hotel in Puerto Pollenca, who each year make us welcome with open arms. Couple this with fantastic scenary of coastal roads, rolling wild flowered winding roads to the hard mountains of the Sa Calobra, throw in a grate soical side from drinking in Tolos bar/restaurant to the lively bars past the witchinhg hour! It is certainly going to be a hard act to follow!
But, time has come to say "a change is as good as a rest"!!
So i am going to whisk you off to Northen Italy to Alássio the home town of our very own Italian Testosterone Tone aka Antonio Paolino, situated near San Remo!
Antonio will be going out there in September and said he is going to check out some hotels to suit our needs. I will be looking to depart Stanstead Airport on Thursday 6th May 2010, which allows us to win the ECCA Festival over the May bank holiday!!
The duration of the holiday will be for Ten (10) days. If you prefer to go for less or more days then i will leave it up to yourselves to make your own arrangements.
At time of writing i don't no if the meal arrangements will be Half Board or Bed & Breakfast only. So it is difficult at this time to give you a price on the accomdation but as a ball park figure i guess around €30 per day. We will fly Easy Jet from Stanstaed to Nice and at present the cost of flights including luggage and bike are around £130. But the later we leave booking the flights the dearer they will become.
Re Transfers to and from Nice Airport in Italy; We will look into hiring our own transport for this and keep the mini bus for thr duration of the holiday in case we want to venture out to San Remo, or Monte Carlo, etc.
Regarding the daily rides; whilst i will not be able to take you around Italy like i can Mallorca, Antonio will be at our disposal and has assured me there will plenty to enjoy from coastal rides to Monte Carlo, San Remo and inland and upwards into the moutains!!
So a rough idea to cost will be between £450 ~ £500 but does not include your personal insurance. You will need to arrange this yourselves.
To be fair on Antonio, i need to give him a realistic number of members including WAGS if you wish, so he can negotiate a good deal on the hotel. With this in mind can you all have a VERY SERIOUS think on it, and give me a definate YES or NO if you wish to come along and enjoy the Cycling Holiday, No May be's or yeah probably, i'll let you know, it's a definate yes or no please.
I am sure it will live up to our Mallorca camp, and therefore look forward to you confirming your place by the 31st August!
Please note that i will require a £100 deposit to secure your place.
Numbers are not limitted to this holiday but i do need you to confirm quickly.
