Phil Hersey won the first event of the ELV winter series last Saturday, breaking away on his own to win by an impressive 54 seconds. His competitors said he was unbeatable on the day, as once he had built the gap, none of the peloton riders were willing to work to bring him back.

In the 3/4 race wthe Eagle had several riders making their seasonal debuts, with new member Phil Sheehan the best finisher in 11th place.
An excellent start to 2012.
