ECCA 100mile TT Championship and The Carpenter Trophy

Great rides by our team on Sunday, two novices at the distance and a more experienced rider.

A hot but fairly calm day and good help from the helpers encouraged the three to achieve their greatest dreams.

Two gold standards and an impressive team time of 12h 56m 51s Well done all including the helpers.

Individual times are Chris Baldwin 4h 4m 4s John Beaufoy 4h 21m 52s (Gold) Elizabeth Chittenden 4h 30m 55s (Gold)

The longest day was bright but windy, most went back a few seconds but one or two did not seem to notice it.

Eagle Road Race

The Eagle RC Summer Road Race held on June 19 was the latest round of the Eastern Road Race League promoted by Eagle RC. East London Velo dominated a blustery Eagle RC Road Race on Sunday morning. Simon Bateson of ELV made an early solo break and stayed away for several laps and when Simon was caught his team-mate Gonzalo Rodriguez went clear to win. Glendene rider Daniel Snow clipped clear for second and Kier Appleby of Hackney led the pack home for third.

Evening 10 series round 4 Result

  A nice evening for racing and most seemed happy with their times. Carlito is still getting used to his new TT bike and was a bit frustrated but I am sure it will come good soon. Paul had trouble with his new shoes these are ideal events for trying things out on as you are never far from home.

Inter- Club 25 with South Eastern RC Result

Not a very nice day (rising SW wind and drizzle) but a very good morning of sport and a good atmosphere, there were no non starters or non finishers and the times were good in the conditions, some people like it like that. The team race was won by the Eagle with a fair margin. The South Eastern boys took it in good spirits and the battle will resume in 2012.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• Parking at the Eagle Club Hut only (entrance through gate), there is no parking at the
Checquers Pub unless you are directed otherwise by our parking attendants
• Race control closes 20 minutes before start
• Crash hats to UCI standards must be worn
• In the event of any complaints the organiser must be notified within 48 hours of the race
• Comply with traffic law and regulations as well as the Highway Code. Obey directions
from the Police, Commissaires and marshals, and keep to the left of the road
• No unofficial following cars. Spectators can if they wish drive around the circuit in the
opposite direction stopping off the road if possible to allow the race to pass
• All cars parked on the circuit are to be parked completely off the road

Evening 10 series round 3 result 7/6/11

A very good turnout on the Hobbs Cross course this evening with 15 riders in total. Damien was back to his best with a 24, a very close race for second between Bryan, Chris and Dave, new member Richard showed promise with a 28.  Note: Could riders take care not to obscure the cycle race warning signs when they park near the finish.

Inter Club 25 with SouthEastern RC 12th June

Many Eagles are just finding form in time for our annual battle with the South Eastern, this year we are on our home course E1/25d. Last year we had a fairly comprehensive win on the SERC course and our winning team were.
