The Eagle RC had a cracking evening at Hog Hill yeterday. Over 20 riders turned up for an evening of short, sharp, fun cycling events organised to cater for all abilities. We had booked the lower circuit at Hog Hill which is a kilometre in length and conveniently misses out the hill. It's still a stiff test though as the circuit is quite exposed to the wind, but last night we enjoyed a pleasant summer's evening - barbeque weather.
We started off with Club Champion Chris Baldwin taking the under 10's through their paces with several fun events through the cones. You can see more pictures of the evening by clicking the link here. http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/londonbal ... directlink
The adults took to the track at around 6-30 for a warm up and some through and off practice. This was quickly followed by the most painful of events - the 1 lap time trial. Our organiser Phil, had this idea that the times for the time trial could be used to sesd the riders into three groups for the later events.
Several scratch races later, we all took part in the closing handicap race. This gave us all a chance to put the through and off riding into practice to see if we could hold off the scatch boys.
All in all a very enjoyable evening and so good to see so much blue and gold on bikes. Some of it brand new kit too thanks to Damien.
